Willaby Campground: by the shores of Quinault Lake

I thoroughly enjoy camping and luckily for me so does Brad.  Several weeks ago we initiated James into the family via camping adventures.  We head out to the Olympic Peninsula (Olympic National Forest area) and chose Willaby Campground on Lake Quinault for our little weekend venture.  Brad hadn't been there, but I had and wanted to experience the cute nearby village of Quinault again.  My brother came with us and we had an excellent weekend!
The first evening we went down to the day use area of the campground and watched the sun set.
Due to the basically empty campground save for us and one other site, we explored all the sites, and especially loved the secluded view from site 18 or 19.  (I can't remember which!)
We walked the the short lakeside trail into the village.
It led to some beautiful views of the lake.
We went into the little store with the creaky wood floorboards that had everything you could ever need...and lots of 4:20 friendly t-shirts.
I had a close encounter with a bunny which left me rather jumpy...pun intended. :)
We even got to see the largest Sitka Spruce!  (John is 6.2. for comparison.)

  3. I'll always remember the squirrel chewing through the rubbermaid container to get at the cookies a few years ago. Hopefully that didn't happen again. That is a beautiful place to camp. -Mom

  4. I wish we were going camping, well not today due to the rain! Steve and I set off in our canoe from the day use area there 4 years ago, we loved it there, it's so beautiful! ~Jaime E.

    1. Hi Jaime! Maybe once the weather settles into a clear spurt...and once school ends. Are you going to do school through the summer?
