How to: Man up and finally get a nose-piercing

So...for a while I've been wanting to get my nose pierced.  Since probably my sophomore year of college, but I've been putting it off, clearly.  Here is a how to of getting your nose pierced: from my personal experience of course

1.  Decide you want to, really want to, ready for baby scar want to(maybe if you decide you don't want it).

2.  Talk with everysingleoneofyourfriends/strangers you meet at Sears Optical who has a nose piercing to get reviews of places to go.

3.  Man up and call for an appointment and find out that they don't take appointments, but that their hours listed online are actually not their hours at all.  You can do this once you decide, it only took me 5 years and 4 weeks of talking about it.

4.  Take your hubby/sig fig (significant figure in your life)/bestie with you as moral support

5.  Pick a side, any side, I strategically choose opposite of my mole below my left eye...a good balance

6.  Sit still while she puts the tube up your nose so that the needle doesn't go all the way through...also don't look at the needle!

7.  Put in the stud and waalaa!  You have a nose piercing.

8.  Pay and tip your piercer.

Things not to do:

Plan your entire afternoon around this event, it takes maybe 10 mins tops.

Bleed all over the place filling 6 paper towels full, I'm apparently a "rare" bleeder...um...well you did just poke a hole in my nose.

  1. It looks great! Can't wait to see it in person! :)

  2. Susan, it looks soooo cute! =) One thing they didn't tell me while I waited for my turn was to avoid Starbucks....loving coffee as I do that is how I chose to pass the time waiting. I only panicked a little whenI came back latte in hand and the piercer suggested I might "just bleed a little more"! Ah well...there wasn't a blog to read when I went. =)
