Azusa: into the canyon

Two posts in one day, this is ridiculous, but I wanted to share some photos from this past weekend.  Just a week late, I know.  My brother, Jake, graduated from university last weekend!  We are so proud of him.  And he is in the state of transition...which is basically where his entire life is up in the air...an exciting, scary, frustrating and dream-filled state.  I didn't quite know how to tell him this, but his graduation speaker hit it on the head, "welcome to the state of life".

Anywhos, it was a whirlwind weekend, which I will post more about tomorrow.  Here are some of the pictures from when he took us up into the canyon above Azusa.

I'll admit that when I think of southern California, I imagine brown...lots of it.  But we were in for a sweet surprise, there were greens everywhere (not just the finely manicured lawns), fresh, bright, just-grown-introduce-me-to-the-sun greens.  And millions of wildflowers everywhere...so many pretty colors. But here are a few of the purples and yellows, nothing like a good complementary palette.  God just is some kind of awesome to have invented color, nature is so gorgeous!
